Pentanet has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner for the Cloud Innovation category for the Australian Business Awards 2022. This award recognises cloud-based products that provide innovative solutions to business and market needs.
Now in their 17th year, the Australian Business Awards are an annual all-encompassing awards program that recognises organisations demonstrating the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement, and employee engagement.
The program provides a significant opportunity for high-performing organisations that implement world-class business initiatives and develop innovative products and services to be acknowledged and honoured for their achievements, nationally and internationally.
We were selected for this award due to our work in bringing GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet, a premier cloud gaming platform to the people of Australia.
GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s proprietary cloud gaming network. In late 2020, we became NVIDIA’s exclusive alliance partner in providing GeForce NOW to Australia. We were awarded the contract over several other larger telecommunication companies because gaming is, and always has been, key to Pentanet’s identity.
After winning this partnership we began the intensive R&D project that would allow for the successful rollout of infrastructure in Perth and Sydney. This infrastructure was critical to support the GFN platform across Australia’s uniquely spread-out and inconsistent telecommunications network.
Before GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet was ever seen by its (now 240,000 plus!) userbase, it went through substantial testing to ensure the service would work effectively with Australian internet infrastructure , as well as the variety of internet access technologies on offer in Australia (fixed wireless , fixed line connections such as the nbn™, neXus , 5G, etc).
We also began work on Cloud.GG; our unique, gamified membership platform that provided an engaging user experience through quests, XP multipliers and interaction with offers and promotions. Since launch, more than 580,000 quests have been completed on Cloud.GG.
Since launch, GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet has enjoyed massive attention and growth, with a with 30% average month-on-month growth of active subscribers. Australia’s premier cloud gaming GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet has seen more than 150 million minutes of play across 240,000+ users since launch.
Now the Founders era of GeForce NOW is nearing its end . With the explosive growth and demand the service has seen, it’s time to make room for something new, which will provide all new options to give every gamer more ways to play.
We couldn’t be prouder to have been chosen as the winner for the Cloud Innovation category by the Australian Business Awards, but we’re never satisfied. Being recognised shows us we’re heading in the right direction and that just makes us even keener to do more for Aussie gamers.
